Blanchette Lab was present at the Scientific Days of the Regroupement qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois en soins des plaies<\/a>, held on April 17 and 18, 2026 at Mont-Sainte-Anne.<\/p>\n\n

The event was a great success. One of the highlights of these days took place on Saturday morning, when Linda Mili <\/a>et Annabel Bourgault jointly presented their master’s projects on the development of patient decision aids for shared decision-making in the continuum of diabetic foot care, including choices related to footwear, orthotics, and\/or plantar pressure offloading modalities. Their professional and authentic presentation also included a role-play simulation, concretely illustrating how these tools can be used in health decisions to increase patient engagement in their own care. Blanchette Lab is proud of the students’ work and their presentation to the Quebec wound care community. The tools will be available on the website shortly. <\/p>\n\n

Professor Blanchette, a member of the RQSP executive committee, served this year as chair of the scientific committee for this 13th edition. In this role, she contributed to the development of the scientific program as well as to the continuing education accreditation process for the Scientific Days. She also facilitated the Friday sessions and moderated two panels: that of J\u00e9r\u00f4me Patry<\/a> pon lymphedema and lipedema, and that of Magali Brousseau-Foley<\/a>, accompanied by her student Jacqueline Simoneau<\/a>, on cutaneous tumors of the lower limbs and a podiatric case. <\/p>\n\n

Professor Blanchette also had the opportunity to present, in collaboration with her UQTR colleague Sasha Stoloff<\/a>, a presentation on the lived experience of a person in the context of a Streptococcus pyogenes<\/em> infection. <\/p>\n\n

The presence of Wounds Canada<\/a> at the exhibitors’ hall was also noteworthy, as Professor Blanchette sits on the organization’s board of directors. The new project on Patient Bill of Rights and Responsibilities<\/a> was also presented \u2014 a project to which Professor Blanchette contributed. <\/p>\n\n

All sessions during the scientific days were distinguished by their high quality, reflecting the vitality of the field and the commitment of the various individuals involved in wound prevention and care in Quebec. The Blanchette Lab congratulates the RQSP for the scientific days and thanks the entire community in attendance and the partners. Next year, the scientific days will be held in Drummondville on April 9 and 10, 2027. We hope to see you there in large numbers. <\/p>\n\n
