Blanchette Lab
Research advances by leaps and bounds when it is grounded in everyday life.
At Blanchette Lab, Professor Virginie Blanchette’s team puts science at the service of clinical and community practices to prevent complications of chronic diseases and improve foot health, particularly among people living with diabetes.
Blanchette Lab Project Areas
Blanchette Lab’s project areas are organized around initiatives focused on engaging individuals and their care partners, prevention and quality of care, professional skills development, and sustainable foot health. They are part of an implementation research and knowledge application perspective aimed at achieving concrete impacts on practices, health, and well-being.

A Word from Professor Blanchette
From a very young age, I knew which path I had to take. Since that day, from my native Lac St-Jean to the founding of the Blanchette Lab, my commitment to the population has always remained unchanged.
But I did not travel this path alone. It is a rich, long road filled with many victories, a few constructive setbacks, but above all, great encounters. Today, I think of each one of them that shaped who I am.
To Tommy and everything we shared… whom I pushed in his wheelchair everywhere in my village. A star watching over me.
To Cindy and her late mother, two women of exceptional inner strength, with whom I discovered the importance of rehabilitation, social inclusion, and the essential role of community partners, notably The War Amps.
To all those who, directly or indirectly, helped me bring this wonderfully concrete project to life, I say thank you.
