On June 1, the scientific symposium of the Interdisciplinary Group for Applied Health Research (GIRAS) was held at UQTR. This conference, organized every two years within the research group, aims to highlight the work carried out by its members with partners, to promote networking and the emergence of new interdisciplinary collaborations, as well as to offer students an opportunity to present their work in the form of scientific posters. It is also a space for exchange and reflection to strengthen the links between the members of the group and to stimulate the development of innovative research projects anchored in the group’s programming in relation to the determinants of health.
A student at Blanchette Lab stood out. Élise Mahe-Duverger who received 1stplace in the master’s competition. This comes with a $250 scholarship. She presented her project which aims to develop, in partnership with people living with a foot amputation and health professionals, a patient decision-making tool to support the choice of shoes, orthotics and prostheses best suited to the needs, preferences and objectives of each person.
The Blanchette Lab congratulates Élise and her commitment to the dissemination of her work. Thank you also to all the partners, participants and collaborators who contribute to Élise’s project, including our main partner, The War Amps, and also VITAM: Centre for Research in Sustainable Health.
The Blanchette Lab highlights the success of all the winners of the poster contest, but also all the participating students, in addition to thanking the organizing committee at GIRAS for this superb day. It was a real success.
