Indigenous Science Fair 2024: Honouring the Next Generation of First Nations and Inuit Scientists
The 2024 Québec Indigenous Science Fair brought together more than 50 students from First Nations and Inuit communities at the Université du Québec en Outaouais to present their science projects. Organized by the Quebec Aboriginal Science and Engineering Association (QASEA), the event showcases the creativity of young people, encourages interest in science, and highlights the contribution of Indigenous knowledge to innovation and research.

Professor Virginie Blanchette Celebrates Indigenous Scientific Youth
Professor and podiatrist Virginie Blanchette (UQTR) travelled to the community of Ivujivik to present the “Scientific Development” award from the Expo-sciences autochtone Québec to students from Nuvviti School. Her visit also gave rise to presentations and workshops aimed at sparking young people’s interest in science and health careers.

Professor Virginie Blanchette Receives Recognition from the Ordre des podiatres du Québec
Professor and podiatrist Virginie Blanchette, from the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR), received the 2022 Mérite podiatrique from the Ordre des podiatres du Québec. This distinction recognizes her commitment to the profession, her scientific leadership, and her contribution to research and training in podiatric medicine, particularly regarding complications related to diabetic feet.

The Comité organisateur de la formation interprofessionnelle en santé (COFIPS) at UQTR has launched a website to better promote its activities and bring together resources for students, teaching staff, and the public. The initiative aims to strengthen training in interprofessional collaboration across health and social services programs and to promote a person-centred approach.
